提 要：古罗马共和国后期，乡村维拉逐渐兴起。它是罗马贵族享受安逸生活和追求财富利润的场所，也是罗马社会的一个显著特征。它主要由在城市居住的贵族所有，由奴隶管家管理。维拉建筑结构渐趋复杂，由多个部分组成，这种安排便于管理，以满足不同的生产生活需要，亦可从中反映罗马社会的发展和农业生产经营的多样化。此外，维拉按其功用不同可分类研究，虽然多数维拉在其用途方面很难严格区分，但从罗马人对维拉使用的侧重点不同可以考察罗马人的生活及当时的农业发展情况。

Title: A Discussion about the Management of Rural Villas in Ancient Rome

Abstract:The villas rose in late Roman Republic were commonly owned by urban aristocrats and managed by overseers. The structure of buildings within a villa was made up of many sections to meet the needs of management, living, and production from which one can observe the social development and diversity of agricultural production.
