提 要：近年来，库朗热的《古代城邦》在国内古典学领域吸引了一定的关注。尽管是一部名著，但它依据的史料和得出的结论已不被当代古典学者所承认。《古代城邦》是19世纪中后期西方古典学与人类学、社会学研究密切联系的产物，二者讨论着相同的问题，遵循着相似的研究范式。因此，今天我们阅读库朗热《古代城邦》的意义不是摒弃人类学、社会学研究方法在古典学研究中的运用，而是通过回溯源头的方式，重新强调二者结合的重要性。

Abstract: In recent years, great attention has been paid on Fustel de Coulanges’Ancient Cityin Chinese Classical studies. Despite its popularity, the sources and conclusions of this book have been considered outdated by contemporary western scholars. It was a product of the combination of Classical studies, anthropology, and sociology in late 19^thcentury. Therefore, the meaning of reading this book today is to re-emphasize the importance of such a combination.
