In the Ming Dynasty however, it was changed gradually that Chuochao was held mainly for the death of the royal family members. The frequency of Chuochao increased from Hongwu to Hongzhi period. After that time, due to the practice of combining chuochao ceremonies, the number of this activity reduced gradually. In general terms, Chuochao has a usage of enhancing the unity of the aristocracy, motivating the bureaucracy, and educating people.
